Woollaston Nelson Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 21-Nov-2013
Fruit from the ‘Burkes Bank’ vineyard under biodynamic regime, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented over 4 months, with 15% in old oak barriques to 8.5% alc. and 45 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Certified BioGro organic. Light straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The bouquet is soft and full with savoury lime and yellow floral aromatics and nuances of honey that build in richness, unveiling mineral nuances in the glass. Medium to medium-sweet and light-bodied, gently rich and succulent lime, floral and honeysuckle fruit flavours flow on a soft-textured, mellow and smooth-flowing palate. The mouthfeel is rounded, with a very fine-textured line and delicate, lacy acidity subtly driving the flavours. Nuances of musk and honey add to the richness and detail, and the wine carries through to a soft, dryish finish. This is a smooth flowing medium-sweet Riesling with gentle richness. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian cuisine over the next 4-5 years. 18.0/20 Nov 2013 RRP $23.00
