Woollaston Nelson Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 29-Jan-2013
Fruit from ‘Burke's Bank', Hope, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented with 10% in seasoned oak to 9.0% alc. and 32 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees. Brilliant, pale straw colour with slight lemon-green hues, pale on edge. This has a softly fresh and delicate bouquet with lifted exotic floral, jasmine-like fruit aromas with lime notes that build in penetration and cut. Medium in sweetness, light and soft, but luscious fruit flavours of limes and tropical fruits are up-front and smoothly flowing across the palate. This has good mouthfeel and vinosity, with discreet acidity in good balance providing a gentle line that leads to a delicately lime-nuanced, dryish finish. This is a soft and smooth flowing medium Riesling with attractive, delicate lime and jasmine fruit flavours. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 4+ years. 18.0/20 Jan 2013 RRP $23.00
