Woollaston Nelson Pinot Noir Rosé 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 02-Dec-2014
Light strawberry pink colour, lighter on rim. The nose is fresh and bright with good depth of strawberry, cranberry and raspberry fruit aromas, lifted by soft red florals and a suggestion of fruit pastille confectionary Dry to taste, gently luscious, flavours of raspberries and cranberries are entwined with red florals and some confectionary elements, forming a fine-textured, mouthwatering core. The mouthfeel is gentle in drive with soft acid liveliness enhancing the fruitiness of the wine. The wine remains dry, with good palate presence, carrying through to a very long, lingering finish with floral and pastille elements. This is a soft-textured, mouthwatering rosé with plenty of fruit presence and length. Serve as an aperitif, and with canapes and tapas over the next 2 years. Hand-picked Pinot Noir fruit destemmed, foot-macerated with a 24 hour soak and indigenous yeast fermented with 20% in seasoned oak and 20% undergoing carbonic maceration to 13.0% alc. and 0.4 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Certified BioGro organic. 17.5+/20 Dec 2014 RRP $23.00
