Woollaston Nelson Pinot Noir Rosé 2012

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 29-Jan-2013
Pinot Noir fruit from Upper Moutere, hand-picked, destemmed and given a 24 hour soak, fermented with 40% in neutral French oak to 13.0% alc. and 5 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees. Light pink colour with slight peach and salmon hues, lighter on rim. The nose is soft and gently full with good depth of strawberry and watermelon fruit aromas, with red florals and some herb notes at the core. Dry to taste, soft red berry fruit flavours with red florals and strawberries show with juiciness and lusciousness, the richness enhanced by subtle acidity. This has a good core and presence to the palate with a very fine textural line that carries the fruit to a weighty, lingering and fine, textural finish. This is a softly textural, juicy rosé with good weight. Serve with antipasto, tapas or dim sum over the next 18 months to 2 years. 16.5+/20 Jan 2013 RRP $20.00
