Woollaston Nelson Pinot Noir 2008

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 06-Mar-2011
Deepish ruby-red colour with a light purple edge, this has a fragrant and perfumed nose of spicy dark-red berry and cherry fruit, lifted by some volatility. Medium weighted, with 14.3% alc., this has elegantly expressed, reasonably lush raspberry and cherry fruit flavours. The palate is rather tight and firm, the tannin extraction to the fore, and this is supported by fresh acidity. Clones 115, 777, 667, 5 and Abel from the Upper Moutere, destemmed and given a cold soak, native yeast fermented and aged in French oak for 11 months. Drink over the next 3+ years with Asian roast duck. 16.5-/20 Mar 2011 RRP $30.00
