Fruit from the ‘Mahana’ vineyard cropped at 2 t/ha, whole cluster pressed and indigenous yeast fermented in seasoned oak to 13.0% alc. and 3 g/L RS, TA 9 g/L and pH 2.98, the wine aged on lees. Bright, light, lemon-hued straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The nose is elegantly concentrated with an intensely packed amalgam of complex citrus fruits, exotic florals, honeysuckle, musk and herbs, infused with minerally elements. Delicate toasty notes emerge with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a tightly concentrated core with real fruit extract, depth and presence. The flavours are stylish in restrained, with a complex array of citrus fruits, yellow stonefruits and florals with mineral and toasty hints. A fine acid line and thread of phenolics guides the palate leading to a fine-textured, dry, long lingering, thirst-quenching finish. This is a finely concentrated dry Riesling with a complex core of flavours just beginning to show some toasty detail. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 5-6 years. This has a very soft, refined and delicate bouquet of pure lime fruit, white florals, sherbet and musk. The nose grows in volume in the glass, revealing mouthwatering wet-stone minerality. Very dry to taste and medium-bodied, tightly bound and extremely elegant flavours of white florals, limes and minerals are enriched with nuances of sherbet and musk. The mouthfeel is one of finesse, with very soft phenolic linearity and ripe acidity that enhances the crisp, racy lusciousness. The palate has great focus, purity and drive that leads to a long and sustained, nuanced finish. This is a tight and refined, brooding, dry Riesling with lime, musk and minerally flavours. It will develop greater complexity over the next 8-10 years. Serve as an aperitif and with fine seafood.
