Wooing Tree ‘Tickled Pink’ Central Otago 2018

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 31-Jul-2018
Deepish cerise-pink with a hint of peach, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full and solidly packed with concentrated aromas of ripe, dark red cherry and raspberry fruit, along with raspberry liqueur, and subtle hints of fresh herbs lending freshness and cut. This has considerable presence. Very sweet to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has rich and luscious flavours of ripe cherries and raspberries along with notes of confectionary, raspberry liqueur and red florals forming a positively concentrated core. The fruit richness and residual sugar lend a degree of unctuousness, which is balanced by fresh acidity and fine phenolic textures, The wine carries to a solid, rich and plush finish. This is a rich and unctuous Late Harvest Pinot Noir with cherry, raspberry and confectionary flavours. Serve with fruit desserts over the next 4+ years. Late harvested Pinot Noir fruit fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 146 g/L RS. Winemaker: Peter Bartle. (375 ml) 18.0/20 Aug 2018 RRP $38.00
