Wooing Tree Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 25-Jun-2021
Deep, ruby-red with a slight deep purple hue and moderate transparency, slightly lighter edged. The nose is fragrant and poised, nuances of cherry blossoms, sweet cherry pie, blackberries, vanilla pods interweave fresh thyme and a light veil of spices. Medium-full bodied, aromas of blackberries, cherry pie melded with cinnamon, cloves, vanilla pods; subtle notes of thyme and floral in the mix. Powdery tannin finely weaved together coated around the palate, balanced acidity drawn to a satisfying finish. This is a poised Pinot Noir with power, sweet fruit and a powdery tannin palate. Match with lamb loins and ribs over the next 5+ years. Handpicked fruit, cold-soaked, hand plunged 3 times a day during peak fermentation. 7% whole cluster. Aged in 100% French oak for 10 months. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) June 2021 RRP $48
