Wooing Tree Pinot Gris 2020, Central Otago

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 25-Jun-2021
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose gently opens up with aroma of warm spice, banana, ripe pear and yellow stonefruit, underlying orange blossoms and lilies. Medium-full bodied, off-dry to taste, the palate is lush with the intensity of yellow stonefruit, pear and lemon melded with a hint of honey, subtle spices and floral fragrance. The mouthfeel is clean with lovely fruit weight; brilliant acidity and sugar sweetness are in harmony. A little chalky phenolic flows on an oily line to linearity. This is a lush, off-dry Pinot Gris with ripe fruit, lively acidity and a fine-textured line. Match with five-spice pork chops and chilli lemongrass fish over the next 4 years. 35% barrel-fermented, the balance fermented in stainless steel. 13% alc, 11.9 g/l RS. Vegan friendly. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) June 2021 RRP $32
