Wooing Tree ‘Blondie’ Central Otago 2015

Rose from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 16-Aug-2015
100% Pinot Noir, hand-picked given minimal skin contact, WBP and fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. Bright, very pale straw colour with a definite pink blush. This has a fresh nose with good vinous presence and delicate perfumes of strawberries, pink and red florals, lifted fermentation esters and mouthwatering white stonefruits. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features an elegantly concentrated core of soft red berry fruits, white stonefruits and delicate florals. The fruit flavours are lifted by nuances of strawberry confectionary. The wine flows with soft acid energy, following a fine-textured line, the phenolics lending the palate dryness, carrying the floral flavours to a light, dry aromatic finish. This is a positive Blanc de Noirs with finely concentrated soft red berry and white stonefruit flavours, and a subtly-textured, dry finish. Serve as an aperitif and with most white meat dishes over the next 2+ years. 17.5-/20 Aug 2015 RRP $28.00
