Moderately deep ruby-red, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is full, with aromas of black cherry, plum, dark herb and toasty oak nuance. Medium-bodied, aromas of black cherry and plum melded with dried thyme, vanilla, nutmeg and roasted coffee beans. Herbs and toasty oak details enrich the dark fruit, and lively acidity provides freshness and balance. Beetle Juice has a classic Central Otago Pinot Noir presence and is approachable and satisfying. Match with lamb koftas and barbeque pork over the next 3+ years. Handpicked fruit from Pink Moon Vineyard, clones 5, 667, and 777, cold soaked, hand plunged 3 times a day at peak of fermentation, 100% French oak ageing for 8 months, 30% new oak.
