Wolf Blass ‘Gold Label’ Barossa Shiraz 2010

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 21-Apr-2013
Saturated black-red with purple hues. Softly full, solid and densely packed and harmoniously entwined aromas of black fruits and black pepper and ripe plums feature on bouquet. Fullish bodied, this is solid and rounded with concentrated flavours of ripe plums, black pepper and liquorice. The fruit is rich and lush, and supported by firm tannin grip. The acidity is a little soft and the aromatics a little restrained as a result. Oak cedar notes are in good balance. This is harmoniously presented and the flavours flow to a soft, dense, dry finish. This is a rich and densely packed wine with harmony and a degree of restraint. Match with slow cooked game meat and hard cheeses over the next 5-6+ years. Barossa Valley fruit fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged in new and seasoned French oak. 18.0+/20 Apr 2013 RRP $24.99
