Wittmann Silvaner Trocken 2013

Other White from Germany
Review Date : 03-Mar-2015
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with lemon hues. The nose is full and broad with up-front and bold aromas of yellow stonefruits entwined with flint, minerals and smoke, showing a little SO2. This has the Silvaner robustness. Dryish to taste, the palate is solid and full with a deep, well-packed core of yellow florals and stonefruits. Some flint, earth and minerals show, adding interest. The wine has positive, underlying power with fine, grainy phenolic textures providing structure and framework, carrying the fleshy, solid fruitiness to a fulsome finish. This is a robust Sivaner with power and grip. 4+ years. Rheinhessen. 12.5% alc. 17.5/20 Feb 2015 RRP $31.45
