Wither Hills Marlborough Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Dec-2013
Medium-deep ruby-red colour with lighter garnet hues. The nose is soft and full with good volume of savoury secondary aromas of red berry fruits intermixed with dried herbs, a suggestion of whole cluster (?), the aromatics quite complex with game elements. Very Martinborough-like! Medium-bodied, the flavours of sweet, luscious, savoury red fruits are entwined with complex secondary flavours. Firm tannins underline the fruit, growing in blockiness, resulting in a chunky, solid mouthfeel. Elevated acidity carries the palate to a sweet finish. This is showing maturity characteristics in the flavours, but will hold another 3-4+ years. 18.0+/20 Dec 2013 RRP $N/A
