Wise Owl ‘Hooting White’ 2013

Blended White from New Zealand - Other
Review Date : 24-Jun-2014
A blend, unspecified in varieties and region, fermented to 13.0% alc, and 7.2 g/L RS. Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with green hues, pale edged. The bouquet is light and soft with clear rose-petal florals and subtle herbal notes, expressed with clarity and delicacy. Off-dry to taste, the palate is soft in fruit expression, showing exotic florals on a palate with good mouthfeel and presence. The wine is enlivened by fresh and zesty underlying acidity, balancing the sweetness of the fruit, and the racy acidity leads to a positive, dry and sustained finish. This is a soft, off-dry blended white with some aromatic lift, good weight and raciness. It has the aromatics of Gewurztraminer, the weight of Chardonnay, the texture of Pinot Gris and the acidity of Sauvignon Blanc. Serve with Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. 16.0+/20 Jun 2014 RRP $12.95
