Willunga 100 McLaren Vale Shiraz 2012

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 21-Dec-2015
Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The bouquet is finely proportioned with well concentrated, but restrained aromas of lifted blackberry and black peppery fruit. Subtle violet and black floral elements add to the lift. Medium-bodied, the palate is soft and plush in texture with gently rich dark-red and black berried fruits, lifted with subtle exotic floral notes and black pepper elements. The mouthfeel is smooth and harmonious, with soft, supple tannins and integrated acidity adding to the rounded mouthfeel. Some liquorice flavours emerge and carry to a supple-textured, light, aromatic finish. This is a smooth and supple, light-flavoured, aromatic Shiraz with a harmonious mouthfeel. Match with poultry, pork and Asian fare over the next 3-4 years. 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier, fruit from the 'Hillside', 'Mary's', and 'Township' vineyards, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged primarily in seasoned French oak, with a small portion new. 16.5+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $28.00
