Willunga 100 McLaren Vale Grenache 2010

Grenache from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 25-Apr-2013
Dark ruby-red colour with good depth, a little lighter on rim. Full with good volume on nose, the fruit expression of ripe, dark raspberries is a little restrained. There are attractive savoury herbal notes, reminiscent of Rhone garrigue. Medium-full bodied, this is elegant in proportion and subtle sweet and juicy black raspberry fruitiness. The tannins are supple and acid freshness is sufficient for excellent balance. Some alcohol warmth is noticeable, rounding out the mouthfeel. As the flavours lead to the finish, a firmness of line and becomes evident. This is clearly archetype Grenache, the expression a little reined in. 5-6+ years. Fruit from 50 y.o. vines in the McLaren Vale, fermented to 14.5% alc. 18.0/20 Apr 2013 RRP $30.00
