Willm ‘Reserve’ Alsace Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from France - Alsace
Review Date : 04-Sep-2014
Bright straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, pale on rim. The nose is elegant with fresh, intensely penetrating aromas of yellow florals and stonefruits with subtle earth and honied notes and a minerally edge. Medium in sweetness and light-medium bodied, zesty and refreshing flavours of yellow stonefruits and honey feature on the front palate. Some floral notes show alongside minerally reduction adding interest and detail. The mouthfeel is crisp and racy from the brisk acidity and the wine flows with energy and linearity leading to a light, acid-driven finish with floral and herb nuances. This is a racy, refreshing and zesty medium-sweet Pinot Gris. Match with mildly spicy Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3+ years. Fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and medium in sweetness. 17.0/20 Sep 2014 RRP $28.99
