Willm ‘Reserve’ Alsace Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from France - Alsace
Review Date : 11-Mar-2014
Pinot Gris fruit stainless-steel fermented to 12.9% alc. and 11.2 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees up to 3 months. Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has a very fresh clean and steely nose of yellow stonefruits and pears, with subtle minerally elements lending a purity to the bouquet. Medium-dry to medium to taste, gently rounded flavours of stonefruits and pears are poised in balance with steely freshness. This has good fruit weight and mouthfeel, and a soft acidity lends a gentle freshness to the palate. Honey elements appear, giving way to a dry, grainy finish with moderate length. This is an up-front, clean, off-dry Pinot Gris that balances a little richness with freshness. Match with Asian fare over the next 3+ years. 16.5/20 Mar 2014 RRP $30.99
