William Murdoch Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2011

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 26-Nov-2013
Very full, even, youthfully purple, black-red colour. The bouquet is full and rounded with open and accessible aromas of well-ripened, savoury dark red fruits with warm earthy spices and hints of game, the aromatics complex and individual. Full-bodied, the palate is fulsome, open and succulent with sweet, warm and generous flavours of savoury red fruits, spices, and subtle earth and game layers. The tannins are supple and integrated, but there is excellent structure and a core that carries the fruit. This is a friendly, countrified Syrah of great appeal. 6-8+ years. 100% Syrah fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 16 months in 35% new French oak. 19.0-/20 Nov 2013 RRP $34.95
