Wild South Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Aug-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with faint green hues, near colourless. The nose is soft and moderately concentrated with aromas of pungent passionfruit gently entwined with notes of tropical fruits and fresh herbs, along with suggestions of minerals. This is fresh, zesty and the aromatics show clarity. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is slender in presentation with flavours of passionfruit and tropical fruits, fresh herbs and gooseberries, lifted by white florals. The fruit is underlined by light, grainy phenolic textures and the palate is enlivened by brisk acidity. The pungent flavours lead to a mouthwatering, dry-textured finish. This is a light and slender passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with some dry phenolic textures and refreshing acidity. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the Waihopi, Wairau and Awtere cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 3.9 g/L RS. 16.5-/20 Aug 2016 RRP $17.99
