Wild South Marlborough Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Dec-2013
Fruit harvested in two picks, and cool-fermented in tank to 13.5% alc. and 5.16 g/L RS. Bright, full straw-yellow colour with light golden hues. The bouquet is soft and full with ripe yellow stonefruit, floral and honeysuckle aromas, with a little lift. Off-dry to taste and medium-full bodied, lifted yellow floral, stonefruit and honey flavours are the feature on the palate. The mouthfeel is soft-textured and has good driving presence, the roundness balanced by underlying acid raciness. Some phenolic textures emerge and lead the wine to a moderately sustained, dry finish. This is a soft-fruited and honied, off-dry Riesling with good body and drive. Drinking well now and over the next 3+ years. Match with Chinese fare. 16.5+/20 Dec 2013 RRP $19.99
