Wild South Marlborough Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Apr-2016
Even ruby-red colour with some depth, lighter on the rim. This has a fresh and elegantly concentrated nose with lively dark raspberry and cherry fruit aromas bound with subtle dark herbal nuances. The aromatics grow in intensity, unveiling liquorice and spice notes and a suggestion of minerally reduction. Medium-bodied, the palate is fine in proportion with a moderately concentrated core of dark raspberry and cherryish fruit, entwined with dark herbs, spices and liquorice, unfolding nuances of minerals. The mouthfeel is bright and lively with the sweet fruit supported by fine-grained tannin structure and lacy acidity. The wine has plenty of energy and carries to a slender, lingering finis of cherries and spice. This is a finely concentrated Pinot Noir with a fine core of dark raspberry and cherry fruit, and a lively, fine-textured finish. Match with poultry and pork, and Mediterranean fare over the next 3-4 Years. Marlborough fruit fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged in French oak and tank. 17.0/20 Apr 2016 RRP $17.99
