Wild South Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 20-Mar-2014
Marlborough fruit cool-fermented to 13.04% alc., the wine undergoing batonnage and 100% MLF. Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is light, fresh and uncomplicated, with tightly bound citrussy fruit aromas along with nuances of flinty lees work and butterscotch MLF components. Light-medium bodied, the palate features a creamy-textured core of aromatic citrus fruits interwoven with butterscotch MLF. The creaminess is balanced by fresh, racy, lacy acidity and the palate flows smoothly with good energy and drive to a soft-textured and dry finish. This is a fruit-focussed Chardonnay with creamy mouthfeel, butterscotch and fresh acidity. Match with seafood and creamy sauced poultry dishes over the next 3+ years. 16.5/20 Mar 2014 RRP $18.99
