Wild South Marlborough Chardonnay 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Jan-2015
Full, even, straw-yellow colour with light golden hues. The bouquet is open and broad with good vinous presence. The fruit is restrained initially, but builds to show a good core of steely white stonefruits in the Pinot Grigio style. Dry to taste with good mouthfeel and palate weight, the flavours of white stonefruits are light and uncomplicated. The wine is softly textured and soft in acidity, contributing a round presentation, and carries gently to a light finish with stonefruit and minerally hints. This is a soft, uncomplicated dry Pinot Gris with some palate weight. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 2+ years. Marlborough fruit cool-fermented to 13.6% alc. and 2.5 g/L RS. 16.5/20 Jan 2015 RRP $17.99
