Moderately deep ruby-red colour with garnet hues, lighter on rim. The bouquet is initially soft and light with red fruit and dried herb aromas harmoniously intermingling with savoury, cedary oak growing to show good depth and concentration. Medium-bodied, up-front and well-packed flavours of dark red berry fruits, liquorice, cedary oak and brown spices form a concentrated palate core. The mouthfeel has firm, drying tannins and fresh, lacy acidity that carries the flavours with a little alcohol heat adding to the line and drive. Spicy plums and liquorice nuances blossom on a sustained, dry finish. This is a firm and tightly concentrated, dry Tempranillo with spicy, cedary flavours and a little alcohol drive. Serve with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3-4+ years. Clone 776 Tempranillo from the ‘Limloader’ block, the wines planted in 2010, fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged in French oak. 90 cases made. 16.5/20 Jul 2013 RRP $19.95
