Wild River Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 27-Mar-2016
Light ruby-red colour, pale on the edge. This has a soft and light nose with uncomplicated aromas of strawberries and soft red berry fruits, unfolding nuances of herbs, spices, liquorice and earthy reduction. Medium-bodied, the palate is light-fruited and accessible with flavours of strawberries and cherries, along with red floral, herb and spice elements at the core. The palate is fresh and lively with bright acidity, and light extraction lends some texture. The wine carries to a light finish with strawberry and herbal notes. This is a light-fruited, fresh Pinot Noir with strawberry and cherry flavours. Serve with firm-fleshed seafood, tapas and antipasto over the next 2-3 years. A single vineyard wine, Davis and Dijon clone fruit, destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged in tank and seasoned oak. 16.0/20 Mar 2016 RRP $15.00
