Wild River Waipara Valley Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 31-Jul-2015
Full, even straw-yellow colour with a pink blush. The nose is softly full with ripe pear and yellow stonefruit aromas detailed by savoury floral elements. The fruit is moderately deep and blossoms gently. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of yellow stonefruits, pears and apricots are enriched by honey and musk nuances, and lifted by spices and florals. The mouthfeel is soft in texture and rounded, with soft acidity enhancing the fruit sweetness. This is open and quite accessible, the wine guided by a fine phenolic thread, leading to a light, subtly luscious, lingering finish. This is an up-front, accessible, easy-flowing, soft and off-dry Pinot Gris with pear and honied flavours. Serve with antipasto, tapas and dim sum over the next 3 years. Waipara Valley fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 5 g/L RS, the wine spending 3 months on lees. 17.0/20 Jul 2015 RRP $10.99
