Wild River Waipara Valley Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 23-Jul-2015
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The bouquet is softly voluminous with aromas of yellow stonefruits along with secondary notes of savoury florals and honeysuckle along with mineral and nutty nuances. Dry to taste and broad in mouthfeel, the fruit is light, showing mature flavours of stonefruit kernels and savoury nutty notes. The palate features a dry-textured line with phenolics and some alcohol drive, and the wine has balanced acid liveliness that carries the mouthfeel to a light finish of faintly bitter stonefruits and nuts. Attractively honied on bouquet, this is a light, dry Pinot Gris with savoury development. Serve with poultry and Mediterranean fare over the next 12-18 months. Cool fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 5 g/L RS. 16.0/20 Dec 2014 RRP $11.99
