Wild Grace Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Sep-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow with green hues, lighter edged. The nose is full and gently voluminous with stylishly rich, pungent passionfruit aromas along with nuances of tropical fruits and fresh herbs. The aromatics are harmoniously melded and show soft depth and intensity, and blossom in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses rich, lush and lively, pungent passionfruit flavours that form a softly concentrated core. The mouthfeel is bright with gently refreshing, slippery acidity, and the wine flows easily, following a fine phenolic, textured line. The acidity is thirst-quenching and leads to a finely concentrated, lingering finish of passionfruit. This is a moderately rich and luscious, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with a gentle liveliness. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Sauvignon Blanc fruit, 60% from Lower Wairau, 25% Blind River and 15% Rapaura, given limited skin contact and cool-fermented in tank to 13.5% alc. and 3 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 17.5+/20 Sep 2016 RRP $26.99
