Whitehaven Marlborough Rosé 2012

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Sep-2012
100% estate Pinot Noir fruit given 24 hours skin contact and cold fermented to 12.0% alc. and 4.0 g/L rs. Bright, very pale pink colour with purple hues, very pale on rim. This has a softly full nose with bright strawberry and cherry fruit aromas, lifted with red floral perfumes and some raspberry bon-bon notes and a hint of spice. Light-bodied and dryish to taste, gently juicy, delicately sweet strawberry fruit flavours are brightened by floral and confectionary elements. A little herbal edge emerges in glass. Soft, smooth textures are a feature, with good fresh and crisp acidity enlivening the palate and adding some lusciousness. The finish is harmonious and integrated with lingering nuances of red florals and strawberries. This is a soft, smooth, light rosé with subtle structure and attractive red floral flavours. Enjoy in the sun as an aperitif or serve with dim sim or tapas over the next 2 years. 17.0+/20 Sep 2012 RRP $22.90
