Whitehaven ‘Greg’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Sep-2012
The ‘Greg' range of wines is a tribute to the late founder Greg White. Fruit from the Peters vineyard in the Awatere Valley, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 3.6 g/L rs. Bright, near full, pale straw-yellow colour with green hues. Very finely penetrating and concentrated aromas of pungent passionfruit combine with minerally notes on the bouquet, showing tightness with intensity. Dry to taste, this is elegantly proportioned with intense flavours of passionfruit, limes and gooseberries that possess a delicate lusciousness. This has excellent acidity for vitality and tension which combines with a very fine textural line that carries drives the fruit to very long and sustained finish. A refined Sauvignon Blanc with intense and tightly bound passionfruit flavours, this will develop over the next 3+ years. Serve with seafood. 18.5+/20 Sep 2012 RRP $26.90
