West Brook Marlborough Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Nov-2015
Full, bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues. This has a slender and tightly bound nose with good intensity of lime and lemonade fruit aromas along with subtle toasty elements and delicate mineral nuances. Secondary kerosene suggestions emerge in the glass. Off-dry to taste and light-medium bodied, this has a soft and gentle core of white florals, lime fruit and honied nuances, along with toasty detail. The mouthfeel is soft in texture with integrated, fine acidity, lending a near unctuous line. Secondary honey and toasty complexities come to the fore and are carried by lacy acidity to a soft, dry, lingering finish with acid laciness. This is a gentle, off-dry Riesling with a soft core of lime, honey and toasty flavours and a smooth palate. Serve as an aperitif and with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 3-4+ years. Fruit from the ‘Wiffen’ vineyards in the Omaka sub-region, fermented in stainless-steel to 11.6% alc. and 11.0 g/L RS, TA 7.4 g/L and pH 2.82. 17.5/20 Nov 2015 RRP $20.00
