Walnut Block ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Dec-2013
Even ruby-red colour with some depth, lighter garnet hues on rim. The nose is soft and voluminous with aromas of red berry fruits entwined with oak cedar, milk chocolate lactic elements and dried herbs. Medium-bodied, light flavours of soft-red fruits and florals show with a harmonious layering of dried herbs, cedary oak and lactic, milky notes, the fruit entering into secondary development. The mouthfeel is softly textured from supple tannins and gentle acidity and the flavours quietly recede to a dry finish enlivened by some residual acid zestiness and alcohol drive. This is a soft-textured, light-fruited Pinot Noir that is showing some mellow development. Serve with antipasto and poultry over the next 3+ years. Hand-picked fruit destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in French oak barriques. 17.0/20 Dec 2013 RRP $34.90
