Walnut Block ‘Collectacles’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Aug-2013
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight reen hues on rim. The bouquet is soft, full and voluminous with passionfruit aromas with a good core, revealing savoury tropical fruits lifted by fresh fermentation esters. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, a solid and well concentrated palate packed with flavours of passionfruit and ripe tropical fruits is the feature. The fruit has a lusciousness and the mouthfeel is soft, mellow and smooth flowing. A very fine textural line and fresh, lacy acidity support the fruit and the flavours flow evenly, revealing more richness through the mid-palate. The finish tapers gently with soft passionfruit nuances. This is a softly presented, mouthfilling Sauvignon Blanc with a core of passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours. Serve with salads and vegetables and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Walnut Block’ vineyards cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 0.95 g/L RS. Certified BioGro organic. 17.5/20 Aug 2013 RRP $20.00
