Wairau River Marlborough Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-May-2015
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, lighter on rim. The nose is fresh with full and up-front aromas of limes and lemons with citrus zest and soft white floral notes. The fruit expression is exuberant and very accessible. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, soft lime and lemon fruit flavours grow on the palate are detailed by exotic tangerine nuances. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively with bright acidity and the wine flows along a soft-textured line. This is fruit focussed and the flavours are carried by the subtle phenolics leading to a soft, dry, lingering finish. This is a soft, open-fruited dry Riesling with flavours of limes and lemons. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian fare over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from the company’s ‘Rapaura Road’ vineyard, the wines planted in 1992, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 5.4 g/L RS, TA 7.7 g/L and pH 3.07. 17.5/20 May 2015 RRP $20.00
