Wairau Hills ‘Ariki’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Sep-2011
‘Ariki' means ‘tribal leader' in Maori. Cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. with 3.8 g/L rs. Bright straw-yellow colour with green hues and a pale edge. The bouquet is full, soft and intense, with pungent grassy, herbal, nettle-like notes. Dry to taste, the wine has soft, restrained flavours of capsicums, gooseberries and green beans. The mouthfeel is full, with balancing bright acidity which carries through to the finish, which features fruit sweetness and length. A softly presented wine with the fruitiness to match most fish and poultry dishes over the next 2 years. 16.0/20 Sep 2011 RRP $27.95
