Waipara Valley Wines Waipara Valley Blanc de Blanc NV

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 08-Mar-2018
Full, even, bright light, golden-yellow colour with some depth, lighter edged, the bubbles moderately fine with good persistence. The nose is full and gently packed with well-concentrated aromas of white and yellow stonefruits harmoniously melded with nutty aldehyde elements and firm bready-yeasty autolysis complexities. This unfolds white florals and piquant chalkiness. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a rich core of savoury white and yellow stonefruits entwined with bread and yeast autolysis, and a harmonious layer of nutty aldehydes. The mouthfeel has good effervescence enhancing the lacy acidity. The wine flows along a fine phenolic line unveiling savoury nutty nuances. This is a rich and well-packed Blanc de Blanc sparkling with savoury stonefruit, autolysis and development flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with white meat dishes over the next 2+ years. 100% Chardonnay from Waipara, bottle fermented to 11.5% alc., the wine aged in bottle for 5 years and disgorged early 2012. 17.0+/20 Mar 2018 RRP $14.99
