Waipara River Estate ‘Single Vineyard Release’ Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 08-Jun-2015
Even ruby-red colour with light garnet hue, pale edged. The nose is firm in concentration and elegantly presented with deep, aromas of vibrant, moderately ripe dark red berry fruits complexed by a little resinous and nutty oak, dried herbs and flinty, minerally reductive nuances. Medium-bodied, the palate features sweet and lush red cherry and berry fruit flavours along with herb and funky mineral elements, entwined with nutty oak. Fresh acidity enhances the fruit sweetness and the palate flows with vitality along a fine-grained tannin line. The structure guides the wine to a moderately long finish of dark red berry and cherry fruit. This is a lively fruited Pinot Noir with some herb and mineral complexities and fine tannin structure. Match with poultry and pork over the next 4+ years. Hand-picked fruit, the wine aged 12-14 months in seasoned French oak. Winemaker: Theo Coles. 17.0+/20 Jun 2015 RRP $25.00
