Waipara Hills Waipara Valley Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 21-Apr-2015
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. This has an up-front, fresh and elegantly presented nose of lime fruit and exotic yellow florals, along with musk and mouthwatering, steel, mineral notes. Medium in sweetness and light-medium bodied, exotic flavours of limes, florals and musk are entwined with tropical fruits and minerals. The palate features a thirst-quenching textural palate with fruit extract and phenolics forming the backbone and line, and the wine flows with plenty of acid vitality and tension, leading to a long, lingering finish with delicate citrus and floral nuances. This is light, mouthwatering medium Riesling with delicate exotic flavours and a textured mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian fare over the next 4+ years. Fruit from ‘The Mound’ vineyard, cool-fermented to 12.0% alc. and 14 g/L RS, TA 7.95 g/L, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 17.5/20 Apr 2014 RRP $21.99
