Waipara Hills Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Dec-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is fresh and gently full with lifted, ripe tropical fruit aromas entwined with passionfruit, white florals, fresh herbs and gooseberry nuances, building to form an elegantly concentrated core. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is taut, finely concentrated and mouthwatering with flavours of ripe tropical fruits, passionfruit, herbs and gooseberries. The mouthfeel is juicy and luscious, with vibrant lacy acidity. The wine flows along a very fine-textured, phenolic line, leading a a light-flavoured, aromatic-nuanced, dry finish. This is a refreshing, taut and finely concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with aromatic tropical fruit, passionfruit and gooseberry flavours. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Marlborough fruit, 70% from the Awatere Valley, 30$% Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc., the wine aged on lees. 18.0/20 Dec 2016 RRP $21.90
