Waipara Hills Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Dec-2015
Bright, pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter on rim. The nose is very elegant and refined, quite tightly bound with intense and penetrating aromas of white florals, aromatic gooseberry fruit, passionfruit and subtle chalky, minerally detail. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, tightly held flavours of white florals, green stonefruits and gooseberries unfold, revealing a refined lusciousness and sweetness. The wine follows a finely balanced line with a good core of delicately sweet fruit and light chalky, phenolic textures. The mouthfeel is refreshing with good acidity and cut, the palate carrying the stonefruit, floral, herb and mineral detail to a sustained finish. This is an elegant, juicy Sauvignon Blanc with aromatic fruit and fine chalky textures and detail. Match with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from various sites of the Wairau and Awatere valleys, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 4 weeks on lees. 18.0-/20 Dec 2015 RRP $21.90
