Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The nose is fresh with bright, pure and delicate aromas of exotic yellow florals, citrus zest, minerals and fresh herbs, the fruit growing in aromatics and richness in the glass. Dryish to taste, the fruit is restrained in flavour, showing subtle florals, citrus and ginger notes. The palate shows well-handled phenolics, the textures soft and near oily, with positive acidity underlying and good alcohol drive. The componentry grows in harmony, weight and power, leading to a long, lingering finish with an unctuous texture. This is a delicate and fresh Viognier with good rounded textures , that grows in the glass. Serve with seafood and poultry and with Pacific Rim fare over the next 3-4+ years. Fruit from the ‘Annabrook’ vineyard, WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 8.1 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 17.0+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $29.99
