Waimea Estates Nelson Sauvignon Gris 2015

Other White from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 03-Nov-2015
Third crop fruit from the ‘Hope’ vineyard tank-fermented to 14.0% alc. and 4.8 g/L RS. Bright pale straw-yellow colour, lighter edged. The nose is fresh with open and broad aromas of cut grass, green stonefruits, gooseberries, green apples and capsicums. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, softly rich and luscious flavours of gooseberries, cut grass and green capsicums fill the mouth. The wine is soft an smooth-textured with gentle phenolic structure and brisk, lacy underlying acidity providing good liveliness and energy. Aromatic floral, herbal and passionfruit elements emerge and are carried to a long, soft, lingering finish. This is a soft, luscious and broad, mouthfilling Sauvignon Gris with a smooth flow and fresh acid drive. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. 18.0+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $23.00
