Waimea Estates Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 09-Oct-2014
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is full and voluminous with harmoniously presented aromas of passionfruit with subtle tropical fruit, herb and gooseberry notes. The aromatics are refined and pristine, and the bouquet quite complete with breadth and ethereal detail. Dry to taste, gently luscious flavours of passionfruit build to form a refined, tight core. The mouthfeel is soft in phenolic textures and the acidity fresh and lacy, providing an attractive poise and balance. This has fruit sweetness and vitality, and carries seamlessly to a long, sustained finish with pungent passionfruit, herb and mineral nuances. This is a soft-textured, succulent and lively, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with poise and balance. Serve as an aperitif, or match with seafood and herb-marinated poultry dishes over the next 2+ years. Fruit from 5 estate vineyards on the Waimea Plains, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 4 g/L RS, with a small portion aged on fine lees. 18.5/20 Oct 2014 RRP $20.00
