Waimea Estates Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 14-Oct-2013
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on edge. The bouquet is full and tightly packed with concentrated and finely expressed passionfruit aromas with subtle mineral and flinty interest. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, concentrated passionfruit flavours are enhanced and enlivened by sweet esters and floral nuances. The mouthfeel is luscious and gently juicy, with good underlying acidity providing vitality and tension. The flavours follow a refined and elegant core and very fine-textured line to a dry and sustained finish of tropical fruits and minerals. This is an elegant and finely concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with lively and luscious passionfruit flavours. Match with seafood, poultry and creamy-sauce dishes and cheeses over the next 2+ years. Fruit from 7 of the company’s vineyards on the Waimea Plains cool-fermented in tank to 12.5% alc. and 3.7 g/L RS, a small portion undergoing batonnage for one month. 18.0+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $20.00
