Waimea Estates Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 29-Nov-2012
100% Waimea Plains fruit from estate blocks, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 4.5 g/L rs, a small portion of the wine undergoing batonnage. Bright, very pale straw colour with green hues. This has a very fine and delicate bouquet of sweetly concentrated gooseberry fruits and minerally detail interwoven with passionfruit and dark herb elements which grow in presence. Dry to taste, this is tight and densely concentrated, with very fine features and soft textures underlining lush passionfruit and gooseberry flavours that form a linear core. A subtle lusciousness is enhanced by fresh, lacy acidity which carries the palate to a very long and lingering, softly packed finish. This is a refined and detailed Sauvignon Blanc combining gooseberry and passionfruity flavours. Match with Thai and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 2+ years. 18.0+/20 Nov 2012 RRP $20.00
