Waimea Estates Nelson Pinot Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 08-Dec-2016
Bright, very pale candy-floss pink colour with some depth, paler edged. The nose is fresh and tight with elegantly proportioned aromas of strawberry fruit and lifted red florals along with nuances of watermelon and pomegranate and a suggestion of confectionary. Dryish to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is fresh with piquant, delicately rich and sweet fruit flavours of strawberries and red florals, along with watermelon and hints of confectionary. The mouthfeel is refreshing and lively with crisp, racy acidity balancing the fruit sweetness, and the wine is carried along a soft, smooth-textured line, leading to a dry, lingering, thirst-quenching finish. This is an elegant, dry rosé with delicately rich strawberry and floral fruit along with hints of confectionary, on a refreshing, mouthwatering palate. Serve as an aperitif, with canapes and antipasto over the next 2 years. Made from clone 8042 Pinot Noir, given 3 hours skin contact and cool-fermented in tank to 11.5% alc. and 7.8 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on fine lees. 17.5/20 Dec 2016 RRP $19.00
