Waimea Estates Nelson Pinot Rosé 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 15-Oct-2013
Bright, deep, near-lurid purple-crimson colour, lighter on rim. The bouquet is full and voluminous with fresh and fragrant aromas of raspberries, confectionary and subtle fermentation esters, along with redcurrant notes. Off-dry to taste, bold and up-front, juicy raspberry fruit flavours are enriched by confectionary notes and build to form a good core. The flavours are fresh and lively with underlying power, linear drive and fine textures. Mouthwatering acidity is a feature of the mid-palate, providing a steely freshness, and carries the wine to a dry, lingering finish with light raspberry and redcurrant nuances. This is a fresh and bold, fruity, off-dry rosé with raspberry fruit flavours and a lively mouthfeel. Serve with tapas or Asian cuisine, and in alfresco dining over the next 2 years. Clone 6 and Mariafeld Pinot Noir given 48 hours skin contact and fermented with a small portion in old oak to 11.5% alc. and 7.8 g/L RS. 17.5+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $23.99
