Waimea Estates Nelson Pinot Rosé 2012

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 29-Nov-2012
Mariafeld clone Pinot Noir fruit given skin contact and fermented with a small portion in barrel to 13.0% alc. and 6.5 g/L rs. Light, cerise-pink colour with some purple hues, pale on rim. The nose has bright and lifted cherry, watermelon and fresh redcurrant aromas, revealing a subtle herbal underlay. Off-dry to taste, soft, rich and luscious flavours of cherries and redcurrants are enhanced by delicate bon-bon notes. Soft and rounded in mouthfeel, this has a degree of unctuousness, but is well-balanced by slippery acidity providing a fresh racy edge to the palate line. The acidity becomes more prominent and sustains the lingering strawberry and cherry fruited finish. This is a softly luscious and bright fruited rosé wine with an underlying richness. Serve with charcuterie, antipasto or fresh summer fruits over the next 2 years. 17.5-/20 Nov 2012 RRP $20.00
